In the wake of this month’s Supreme Court of Canada decision in Crookes v. Newton 2011 SCC 47 (for previous Signal discussion on the topic, see here) there has been an outpouring of news stories and commentary, and I thought it useful to highlight the following items:
- Daniel Burnett, who was counsel to the defendant in the case, has written a comment published at IP Osgoode’s IPilogue
- Robert Kasting, who was counsel to the plaintiff in the case, has also written a short note on the decision, which can be found in the comments to this post at IPilogue
- Matthew Nied, one of the most thoughtful commentators on Canadian defamation law, has written a detailed post published at The Court.ca
- David Elder and Lindsay Gwyer have written a nice treatment of the decision over at the Canadian IP & Technology Law blog
